A VERY GOOD YEAR
CSO audiences know to expect brilliance from this young Canadian pianist, and Stewart Goodyear won’t disappoint with Bartók’s fiery first concerto, a work premiered by the CSO at Carnegie Hall in 1928. Schumann’s romantic Spring Symphony was inspired in part by his first happy months with his wife, Clara, who said, “the poetic spirit of this work has reached my inmost heart.”
