RADU LUPU PLAYS BEETHOVEN
One of the most important musicians of his generation, Radu Lupu returns to perform Beethoven’s poetic Fourth Concerto, which opens with a soft-spoken passage for soloist alone—a shocking turn for audiences of Beethoven’s time, who expected a rousing orchestral introduction. Highly romantic works by Webern and Bruckner round out the program.
